Fingal Counselling Service

Fingal Counselling Service is a community-based voluntary counselling service providing confidential, non-directive counselling.

We are looking to recruit Student, Pre-accredited and Accredited counsellors/Psychotherapists to volunteer once a week for a minimum of 1-3 hours in our centre based in Swords, County Dublin.

Will you share your professional therapy skills to help us provide a service that can be a lifeline to people when they are most vulnerable.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Volunteer Counsellor /Therapist you will be providing therapy support services to vulnerable people, many of whom are isolated and in need of mental health services.

You will be providing one-to-one counselling/therapy sessions. With your recognised counselling/therapy qualifications and experience, you will be an asset to our small charity and to our service users.

Your ‘pro bono’ contribution would be a truly valuable service to your community.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

  • Providing one-to-one counselling sessions
  • Helping to develop our mental health service
  • Participating in monthly clinical supervision and monthly peer support
  • Maintaining client confidentiality, upholding data protection and equal opportunities principle

OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS:

Step 1: Applicants will also be required to email the following documents: CV, Cover Letter, Qualifications, and Membership with a professional body.

Step 2: Clinical Interview (20 minutes)

Step 3: Garda Vetting Process

Step 4: Induction and Start

WHAT’S REQUIRED

A recognised qualification at minimum level 8 QQI in Counselling or Psychotherapy; or a level 9 QQI in Counselling or Clinical Psychology Membership of a recognised professional body (i.e. PSI, APCP, IACP, NAPCP, IAHIP, ICP, etc.)
