When You Contact Us

We will ask you for your name and contact details. Ask you to indicate the most suitable time and date for you to attend for counselling. Place these details on our waiting list. Contact you as soon as a counsellor becomes free.

What Happens When You Come to Counselling?

Confidentiality – Your counsellor will talk you through our policies on confidentiality. All of our counsellors adhere to the IACP Code of Ethics.

How long will it take – This depends on the individual but you will be asked to make an initial contract of 4/6 weeks.

Your counsellor – Once your appointment is arranged you will see the same counsellor each week.

Cancellation – If you cannot attend for your appointment please contact us to let us know. We usually ask that at least one day’s notice is given.

Forms – At your first visit, together with your counsellor, a small amount of form filling will be required.

What Happens In Counselling

A safe place is created where you can tell your story. You will be listened to in a non-judgemental manner. Counselling will enable you to explore life choices. You will be helped to recognise your own strengths, develop more effective coping skills, discover your ability to determine your own future.
